Who is Dr. Jennifer Yu?

Doctor of Dental Surgery, DDS

Hello! I’m Dr. Jennifer Yu, a general dentist at Dental Now Panorama.
My family moved from China to the United States when I was young, eventually settling in Alberta. Growing up with limited access to dental care, my family and I experienced several unpleasant dental emergencies, but were always treated well by our local community dentist. Inspired, I felt it was my calling to improve the dental health of others, treating them with the same care I would my own family. So, in 2014, I started my journey at the University of Alberta School of Dentistry and began practicing general dentistry four years later.

Dentistry is beautiful because I have a chance to make a positive impact on someone’s life every day. I take pride in doing quality dentistry, whether I am doing a seemingly “small” cosmetic filling, or a full orthodontic treatment to restoring one’s smile functionally and cosmetically. At Dental Now, I focus on preventive dentistry by first educating patients on their current dental health by showing them photos, radiographs and digital scans; we then work together to find a treatment plan that is tailored to them. I love discussing sleep medicine and its relationship to orthodontics and one’s general health. That’s why I dedicate a lot of my spare time to studying these topics in more detail so I can relay the most updated information to my patients.
When you catch me outside of the dental office, you’ll likely find me traveling, dancing, playing piano, eating, or relaxing at home with my husband and our two cats.
